Luke Jackson is a cool, gutsy prisoner in a Southern chain gang, who, while refusing to buckle underneath to authority, retains escaping and being recaptured. The prisoners admire Luke because, as Dragline explains it, “You are an unique, that is what you’re!” Nonetheless, the camp staff actively works to crush Luke until he lastly breaks..Okay, I had written an enormous blurb about how great the ending of this movie was and how the ending is a movie’s most important half, however I believe we all understand that nicely enough. I’m going to speak about one thing else: George Kennedy’s Oscar winning role.
Cool Hand Luke Movie Wow, is he awesome! I, like I assume many people of my era are, am solely accustomed to Kennedy by his position as the police Captain Ed from the Bare Gun series, through which he was hilarious, and his stint selling breath mints on infomercials. I never expected that he ever received an Oscar! And it was fully deserved.
He created a really complicated character in this film. Bravo! I cherished Paul Newman, too, in fact. I just checked out who else was nominated that 12 months, and I have not seen both the winner of that yr’s greatest actor Oscar (Rod Steiger in In the Heat of the Evening) or one other nominee (Spencer Tracy in Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner), but of those I’ve seen (Warren Beatty, Bonnie and Clyde and Dustin Hoffman, The Graduate) I might personally have picked Warren Beatty, seeing as Bonnie and Clyde is one in every of my very favorite films, and I love Beatty in it. Anyway, Cool Hand Luke was a masterpiece itself, and I do give it a ten/10.
